RWANDA KARAMBI 200g

This Red Bourbon Natural comes from smallholder farmers around Karambi Washing Station in Rwanda’s Nyamasheke District, in the Western Province. The region sits at 1,700–2,000 metres above sea level and benefits from high elevations, rich soils and favourable rainfall, with most farms averaging less than a hectare. Karambi works with more than 750 smallholder producers, over two-thirds of whom are women. For this natural lot, only ripe cherries are selected at intake, with flotation and careful hand sorting used to remove underripe or defective fruit. The cherries are then spread in thin layers on raised drying beds and regularly turned throughout the drying period, allowing the fruit to dry slowly and evenly for around three weeks. This extended natural process brings out the expressive character of Rwandan Red Bourbon, with vibrant fruit, gentle spice and a smooth, balanced sweetness.
